Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix realized early on that she was gifted in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial time she tried out, she was ranked 2nd in the 200m race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed high school in 2003 and became a part of Adidas a contract as a professional athlete. In the following year, she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. She set the Junior World Record taking 200m in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her becoming the youngest female to win the 200 meter race. She defended that title, beating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top third in each event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
